My invisalign treatment has been a bit of a minor miracle if I’m truly honest.
I was never really too bothered about the gap between my top and bottom teeth, but longed to have them straightened; which couldn’t be done with NHS funding. I started looking at prices of private treatment and found invisalign to be only marginally more expensive than traditional braces. Also, my treatment has taken just 9 months instead of the 2 years I was told I would need to wear a metal brace for my orthodontist.
When I went to see my clincheck at Bridge Dental I was really surprised to see that not only were my teeth going to be straightened, but they were going to attempt to reduce the gap between my top and bottom teeth. I’m waiting until my last tray to measure. I don’t even really notice it to look at in the mirror anymore, and I can bite and chew food much better than before.
I can’t believe I’ve got such a fantastic result for so little discomfort and effort, considering the initial NHS plan. The trays are really easy to use and each new tighter tray takes less than a day to get used to. I’ve always been really nervous visiting the dentist, but all the staff at Bridge Dental have been so kind and relaxed when you come in, it’s really helped me get over my fears.
Until you’ve got straight teeth, I don’t think you realise exactly how much of an impact crooked teeth have on your confidence. When I found out I was a candidate for invisalign treatment, I actually had a little cry because I was so relieved.
I’m currently in the second year of my Masters degree in Osteopathy and next summer will be treating my own patients for the first time. I’m really looking forward to feeling confident and walking in on my first day with a massive smile on my face!
